Pauline - Cabin Crew

The beautiful voice

Pauline loved welcoming passengers on board. To her, it felt like making new friends. Coming from a close family in New Zealand, one Maori proverb had always stayed with her: 'What's the most important thing in the world? It is people, It is people, It is people.' She couldn't think of many jobs where you live that by the minute.

Every flight was a chance to enjoy herself and make people happy – it was that simple. Being a natural performer, she couldn't resist one time singing to her passengers, 'Thank you for flying Jetstar today!' It got a great reaction.

By simply being herself at work, she was creating quite a buzz with passengers – both regular and new. That was the thing about Jetstar, they encouraged you to be yourself.

As they touched down in Auckland, Pauline looked out at the faces in front of her. Judging by the smiles, most knew what was coming. She reached for the handset and took a breath. The stage was set.

The unforgettable experience

With the Q300 safely above New Plymouth and seatbelt sign off, her passengers looked out to their nearest window. One looked at Pauline with a big grin 'Wow – Mount Taranaki looks awesome!'

She felt proud to be wearing the Jetstar badge. Their regional network now connected destinations across New Zealand and for many it was the first time they'd ever been able to fly. Pauline loved watching their reactions, especially the kids, and spent as long as she could pointing out the sights. As the plane climbed and turned, she felt just as excited as they did.

Family was a big part of Pauline's life, and it felt good to bring people closer across the country. 'Everyone have fun?' she asked once they landed. The smiles on their faces said it all.
